Jackasses! Liars, Liars, Liars

The provincial government made great promises of providing new housing for seniors and handicapped people. With great joy municipalities and community groups made the preparations for their part of the projects. As time moved along the government then told most groups that there was not enough money anymore.
And now just three weeks after announcing a 15% income tax cut, the B.C. government announced Wednesday it is scrapping the plan.
The 15% cut was announced on Oct. 27. It would have applied to the first $72,293 of personal income and would have taken effect Jan. 1.
If someone cries out "What jackasses! Liars, liars, liars", there would appear to be great justification for such expression.

Need Help

Our accumulative wisdom is unable to meet the daunting challenges of our time. We as politicians are recognizing that. ... Spoken quietly by an unnamed African President to Ravi Zacharias

The Future Of Car Travel ... Audio Available

It's tempting to daydream -- as you're fighting traffic to and from work every day -- of a time when cars will drive themselves. When all you'll have to do is climb in, sip your coffee and read the headlines on your iPad -- whatever's going to take its place. Google did make big news last month sending four driverless vans down the Pacific Coast Highway.

Three Members Of State’s Supreme Court Fired By The Citizens

Amazingly, the events in Iowa are getting comparatively little news attention, possibly because their key players are relatively unknown to the American people. Or, more likely, the liberal political establishment recognizes the looming enormity of their ramifications and does not want the general public made any more aware of them than necessary.

Mutually Assured Destruction

One thing is perfectly clear after Tuesday's midterm elections: The long-and-fruitful relationship between Democrats and teachers unions is no longer mutually beneficial.

Germany’s Freiheit Party Joins the Fray

A new German political party, Die Freiheit (The Freedom), had its inaugural meeting on October 28 in Berlin. I was in town, so its leadership invited me to be the only non-member of the nascent party to witness and report on its founding constituent assembly.

As a reminder of how freedoms have eroded in Europe in this age of Islamist terror, a political party that resists Islamization and supports Israel cannot come into existence in broad daylight. So, like the other 50-plus attendees, I learned of the event’s time and location only shortly before it took place.
