It is not unusual for Canadian killers to be found troubled in the mind and to receive not guilty verdicts in court because of it. The killing of an Ottawa sportscaster and the beheading on a Greyhound bus come to mind right away.

A Grand Forks woman who killed her 12-year-old autisic neighbour because she thought the boy’s death would allow for the second coming of Christ was ordered held at least one more year in a psychiatric hospital, the Criminal Justice Branch confirmed Wednesday.
